Last 20 October Idea-Re took part in Quantum Week 2021, the prestigious Quantum Computing conference.
The IEEE Quantum Week — IEEE International Conference on Quantum Computing and Engineering — is among the top conferences on Quantum Computing. During poster session n.8 Idea-Re presented the study “Solving Sensor Placement Problem In Real Water Distribution Networks Using Adiabatic Quantum Computation”.
We presented the quantum optimization algorithms that we developed to find the optimal locations to install pressure sensors in a water distribution network. The optimization problem has been formulated as a QUBO model (Quadratic Unconstrained Binary Optimization) and can be tackled by means of Quantum Annealing implemented on D-Wave quantum computers.
