SAIFIN: AI agents and satellite data combined for more transparent commodity trading.
Abstract
The SAIFIN project (Satellite data and Artificial Intelligence for FINtech) presents an algorithmic trading system that integrates satellite imagery, financial data, and advanced artificial intelligence to support investment decisions, particularly in agricultural and commodity markets. The architecture relies on specialized AI agents — Market, News, Satellite, and Master Agent — coordinated through large language models (LLMs), which combine market data, news sentiment, and satellite indicators into coherent, explainable trading signals. The results show strong consistency between quantitative signals and the narratives generated by the system, indicating that multimodal, agent-based architectures offer a concrete path toward algorithmic trading systems that are more robust, transparent, and compliant with financial regulations, especially under volatile or data-scarce market conditions.
