In-process monitoring in FFF 3D printing through the integration of heterogeneous sensors.
Abstract
The study describes the development of a “smart” FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication) system, able to monitor the production process and part quality in real time by fusing data from heterogeneous sensors. The approach makes it possible to detect defects that cannot be identified by a single sensor, paving the way for timely corrective action and reduced scrap.
